"As an upholsterer, it is a great pleasure to be allowed to carry on this legacy."

The consumption of furniture in Denmark has a carbon footprint of 561.000 t. of CO2 per year (politiken.dk).

Fortunately, in Denmark there is a very special shared cultural heritage. One which has been created over time by our Danish designers and furniture craftsmen.

It is furniture that were made to last through many generations - furniture that can withstand everyday life and easily get many years of extra life, with reupholstery and a little love.

As an upholsterer, it is a great pleasure to be allowed to carry on this legacy. We make sure to restore your furniture, focusing on quality and longevity to ensure use and function for future generations.

When we restore furniture, we buy materials for each piece of furniture only and the waste of material is minimal. You can therefore, with a clear conscience, invest in restoration and reupholstery rather than buying new.

MODERN FOAM FURNITURE

Many of our furniture in the home contain foam, but the quality can vary. At Københavns Møbelpolstring you will only find furniture foam of good quality, which will not collapse after a few years.

If a reupholstery requires new foam, it is important for us to achieve the same or better quality of the foam in your furniture. We make sure that the furniture appears as original as possible, unless otherwise desired.

We will guide you to help decide, e.g. firmness and the height of the foam in your furniture, to ensure that the comfort is exactly as you prefer.

ANTIQUE FURNITURE

Furniture foam was first invented in the 1950s, so all furniture from before that time contains upholstery materials made from natural fibres. Natural upholstery materials are incredibly durable - that's why you still see many well-preserved antique furniture.

Often, it is worthwhile investing in an older piece of furniture.

The quality of the materials in an older piece of furniture does not deteriorate as easily as those used in the commercial industry today.

Working with older furniture is often more time-consuming, as the materials are processed and shaped by hand.
