Julie Zaken -

Furniture upholsterer and textile expert

I am obsessed with materials of high quality and love how the expression of a piece of furniture can change by choosing a specific textile.

The weaving, texture and color composition are paramount to achieving a high-quality piece of furniture. I take great pride in emphasizing the aesthetic lines of a piece of furniture by means of beautiful textiles.

I have spent most of my adult life improving my skills within my craft - 8 years of education as well as years of practical experience, form the framework of the craftsmanship in Københavns Møbelpolstring.

My interest in furniture started when I was a child, but really took off in my teenage years after I started buying vintage furniture that needed a little love.

In many ways Københavns Møbelpolstring is the result of my childhood dream of creating my own business, combined with my great passion for furniture and craftsmanship.

I hold a journeyman's certificate as an upholsterer, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Design and Communication. My educational background gives me a broad understanding and great devotion of the materials I work with, as well as my field of work in general.
